Josiah moved from Watertown, South Dakota to Hollywood and landed his first engineering job at Patches Sound, where he and Mike hit it off. Together they built two Studio Awesome locations and launched Select Casting. He runs studio scheduling and day-to-day operations, and still jumps in to engineer when needed.

Mike came to LA from Chicago in 2001 to start Patches Sound. With Josiah he opened the first Studio Awesome in 2017 (named by Mike’s son), launched Select Casting in 2019, and added a second Studio Awesome in 2022. He now focuses on Select Casting and overall business development.

Josh is an Emmy-winning sound designer and mixer (seriously, check out his IMDB). He knocks mixes out of the park, is great at ADR, and if he’s in the chair, you’re in excellent hands.
